  • How often should I have my upholstery cleaned?
Although there is no EPA guideline for upholstery cleaning, Magic Carpet Express Co. recommends that you have your upholstery professionally cleaned every other time your carpet is cleaned. Please check your manufacturers requirements for professional cleanings to uphold your furniture warranty.

  • Can I afford a professional carpet cleaner, or should I do it myself.
Dollar for dollar, hiring a professional carpet cleaner isn't expensive compared to the cost of replacing worn and damaged carpet. Doing it yourself, is ok for interim cleanings but all major carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning every 3 to 6 months to preserve the integrity of the carpet fibers, and to uphold your warranty.

  • Can you remove odors from carpet and upholstery?
Absolutely! There are special chemicals and techniques that can be used to remove odors from your textiles.

  • Can you remove spots and stains?
Let me start by defining the difference between a spot and a stain. A "SPOT" is any foreign material (soil, liquid, etc.) that is removable by standard cleaning methods (the foreign material is on or around the carpet fiber). A "STAIN" is foreign material (soil, liquid, etc.)on the carpet that is not usually removable by standard cleaning methods (the foreign material has penetrated "soaked into" the fiber and has changed or damaged the fiber itself). We can remove most spots and stains with our arsenal of professional stain removal chemicals and techniques. Although not all stains can be removed completely, we have a proven track record of working miracles on those tough spots and stains that can be removed.

LIFE OF YOUR CARPET: Can be greatly extended by simple routine professional cleaning. APPEARANCE: Maintain the original look and luster of your carpet with regularly scheduled professional cleanings.

  • What method of carpet and upholstery cleaning is best?
The best method of cleaning a particular carpet or upholstery piece is dependent on a range of factors. All methods offer various advantages but also have some limitations. No single method is superior to all others. Properly performed under appropriate conditions, each method can provide satisfactory results. Your Magic Carpet Express Co. technicians are skilled in all carpet cleaning methods. We provide truckmounted steam cleaning and low moisture methods. Rest assured, your carpet and upholstery will be cleaned with the appropriate method for maximum effectiveness.

  • With all that hot water on my carpets and upholstery, how long until they are dry?
Although steam cleaning uses some water in its process, the system is built to extract the water from the carpet or upholstery once the fibers have been thoroughly flushed. Your carpets and upholstery are left only slightly damp, and should dry completely in just a few hours. You can walk on your carpets immediately after we leave, but we recommend limiting traffic, especially to and from outdoors, until thoroughly dry.

  • Will cleaning my carpet make it wear out faster?
No! In fact, it's just the opposite. Actually dirt acts as an abrasive when trapped in your carpet or fabric, and should be removed to reduce wear.

  • Which provides better indoor air quality (carpet or hardwood)?
In the past, many home owners have switched from carpet to hardwood flooring in an attempt to improve the indoor air quality of their home. This has been proven to be a HUGE misconception in the flooring industry. Carpet actually acts as a "filter", trapping pollutants which are then removed by professional carpet cleaning. As long as a regular cleaning schedule is maintained, carpet provides much better indoor air quality than hardwood flooring.

  • Should I have fabric protector applied after cleaning?
Yes, most carpet and upholstery manufacturers will require this to uphold your warranty. You may request that we re-apply the proper protectant after we professionally clean, to restore the original stain resistance of your carpet or upholstery.
